Be a plecia nearcticas…

Be a plecia nearcticas…

Celebrate being a plecia nearcticas [a.k.a. lovebug] this Valentine’s Day! Though lovebugs fill us with rage during the season in which they gut-graffiti our front bumpers, you have to hand it to these little rascals who stick together the way they do – whether in life or death! In honor of the lovebug [ladybugs, what-have-you], celebrate sticking together this Valentine’s Day! Come into the studio and love on each other with hand-made gifts!

Remember that we have add-ons [pictured above] that can add flare to your piece. Have a heart, or ladybug, or flower glazed creatively on your chosen piece…whether a mug, plate, box – add-ons are a lot of fun!

We look forward to seeing you!

hey love birds…

hey love birds…

For Valentine’s this year, go huge or go home [wink]. Ask that special someone to be yours forever by hand-painting a box to house that huge rock you purchased!  [Ladies, forward him a link to our site if he needs a little help in this department!]  We would love to be a part of your love story :)   And if you aren’t ready to make that huge of a leap this Valentine’s Day, then we have lots of other sweet gift ideas for him or her!

One of my personal favorites is the heart mug pictured below, which was inspired by Hallmark’s line of Fresh Ink cards.  In pointing out the sun, clouds, and flowers, it says, “Brighter, prettier, fluffier, happier…all because of you!”

Get creative, get painting, get to You Do the Dishes before Valentine’s Day!

She will be missed…

She will be missed…

One of the first questions we hear from customers when arriving at the You Do the Dishes isn’t about the pottery or even the coffee, but is instead about whether our sweet Ellie is around!

Ellie spent 14 years prancing around You Do the Dishes and 17 years at the heels of Cindy, her loving owner.  She was most often pictured emerging from her den in the back to get a plate-full of chicken from J. Baja’s, trying to outrun the mob of children hot on her tracks in the studio, and bringing so many smiles to adults and little ones alike.  This still may be a Happy New Year, but it is bittersweet as we say goodbye to our Eleanor.

Thank you for your thoughts and regrets at this time,
The weepy staff @ You Do the Dishes

Procrastinators welcome…

Procrastinators welcome…

We understand that the Holidays can be stressful;  traffic is maddening, the lines are long, and if you’re like me, you get hungry and grouchy amidst the masses…which is precisely why coming to You Do the Dishes is the perfect solution.   In the comfort of our studio, you can personalize gifts for those ‘hard to buy for’ relatives in a calm atmosphere with a hot chocolate in hand!  What are you waiting for?

Procrastinators are welcome…so long as you realize that it takes 3 to 5 days to glaze and fire your pieces!

We look forward to serving you,
